Mau and I also made a video summarizing our time here, to see that click here. Overall, I think that this project was really important because I learned a lot of valuable skills that I wouldn't have had the chance to learn at school. The process Mau and I went through to finish our tasks at E-Rehab was very quantifiable, at least in terms of Google Reviews. We had to finish a certain amount of reviews in a certain time period, and we completed that. All in all I really enjoyed my time here and am excited for next years internship to come around.

I think that internship helped me realize a lot about what I want to do for (and after) college. Although I didn’t do everything that was originally planned for me, I still got to experience a bit of what it's like to work in an office. I like the office atmosphere because It is quiet, and provides a nice place to get uninterrupted work done. I think that is very important when it comes to a company like E-Rehab, because they really pride themselves on their work. They need to live up to their own, and their customers expectations. Another thing I like about the office atmosphere is how everybody that you may need to talk to is in really close proximity. That also seems super important for a company like E-Rehab because a lot of the work they do is collaborative, and needs to be worked on by multiple people at once. That's exactly why Mau and I shared the same project.
There are many people at my internship that seem highly qualified to be working here, and I learned a lot about the steps I need to take from them. They have people here from all walks of life, and even a couple other high school interns/part-time workers. I think that I can take something from each and every one of them. John, the manager, went to Cal Poly SLO for business, and he then created this company with his friend Dave. I think that going to Cal Poly SLO is a cool, but something that I feel I can learn from even more is when he started the company. I think that taking a risk and starting something like that is really impressive, and takes a lot of knowledge and background on the topic for it to be successful. Something that I want to do, whether it be out of college, in college, or even before, is start my own business. I think that I can learn a lot from the steps that John, Dave, and many others took to get to where I want to be. For my own preparation for college, I have been doing a lot to get ready, but have mainly been focused on the SAT. I am aiming to increase my score right now for the August SAT, and if I am able to do that, I should be in good shape. Other things that I have been doing are, obviously internship, but also working different jobs, playing sports, and trying to do other extracurriculars outside of school. l
These are my five "starter set" photos. These were all taken around the office, and shows the kind of atmosphere that we are working in. It is a very playful and inviting environment, that also encourages us to get our work done. There's a pool table, normal office cubicles, and a wall that contains all of E-Rehabs pamphlets/promotional deals, so you can see how they have progressed over the years. There's also a picture of the dashboard, which is what we use everyday to navigate the work that we have to get done. I have self advocated for myself here at E-Rehab a lot in the past two weeks or so. I have made sure to stay on top of my work, and get done what needed to get done. I know how important of a skill self advocacy can be, so I made sure to be on top of everything. I have advocated for myself by asking for help when I needed it, and making sure that Sue, John, or whoever else I am working with is up to date on my work. Earlier today, Mau and I realized that a couple clients review pages didn’t look like they were supposed to, so we made a list of those clients and gave them to Sue to review. Some of the clients had already received emails that they shouldn’t have, so it was really important that we get that issue cleared as fast as possibly. Luckily, Sue has the html team working on it, and it was a potential situation avoided. That is one example of how I have been self advocative of my work here at E-Rehab.
I read the article on “How to be an intern everyone remembers”, and I have been putting into action those steps. Most importantly, I have been remembering to take notes whenever I go into any meetings or important conversations, which has saved me a lot of time and headache when getting started on my tasks. I’ve also been getting to know my colleagues, and actually had a really easy time remembering all of their names, and the roles that they play. That has helped me a lot when asking questions, and knowing who to talk to to get stuff done. We are supposed to get to the office at 9, but I have been showing up around 8:30 - 8:45 every day just to make sure I’m on time, since traffic can be unpredictable some days. This has helped me relieve a lot of the stress of being late, and I can even leave early some days because I have been clocking in early. Since the dress code and the environment is really casual here, I have also been dressing pretty casual to match. I think that if I come to work comfortably than I can get the most amount of distraction free work done. Lastly, I have always been making sure that I have plenty of work to due, and don’t go too long without doing something. Right now I have been very busy with adding google reviews, but once Mau and I are finished with that I will have plenty of other things to work on. For my project at E-Rehab, I have so far been helping Mau with the google reviews. That on its own has been my task for the past week, but I also have plans to help make videos for clients. I think that my main project will revolve around the video, since I can't really make a project out ot the google reviews. The skills that I will need for the project I mainly already have, or have been working on at my time here at E-Rehab, like learning how to use Camtasia, which is their video editor. Some other skills that I might need is good collaboration skills, which I think I have, becasuse I’ll be working with Mau on my final video products. I’ll need support from my coworkers, and co-interns, to help get my work done, and help from clients to make sure I get all of their information right, and that it looks the way they want it to. All in all, I am excited for my project because it combines a lot of what I like doing, and think that its a good fit for me.

What is your job title?
Part 2 (Reflection)
Today was my first day at E-Rehab. I got a lot done today, and got assigned my job that I’ll be doing for the rest of the internship. My main priority is working on the universal price change, but I’ll also be working on the brand marketing videos.
What strikes you most about your workplace? The thing that struck me the most about my workplace was how laid back it was, and how open they were to us doing work without much guidance. All of my colleagues seem really friendly, and excited to be working with us. There’s a good amount of people working here, but I am usually working closest with John, the manager, and Sue, the customer support supervisor. They are really helpful, and give us a good amount of guidance while still letting us do our own work. What strikes you most about your job? My primary job is to work on the price increases, which means I have to figure out the amount it increases (as it varies from customer to customer), and alert them of the increase ahead of time. What strikes me is all of the moving parts that go into what seems like a fairly simple task. My other assignment, the brand videos, also seem like there are more moving parts than I may have expected, but still nothing that I can’t handle, Were using camtasia instead of Final Cut Pro, which I normally use, but it has a similar layout and should I be able learn how to use it pretty quickly. What are you excited about? Overall, I am really excited to get to work and learn new things. I think it will be a nice change from normal school since I’ll be doing work that applies to my field. I think that I’ll learn a lot of useful skills here that I can bring with me elsewhere. What are you worried about? I don’t feel to worried about anything, but there is always some fear of messing up and potentially losing a client. I feel pretty confident in my work and my capabilities though, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
